Notice: Rose Veterinary takes the decision to euthanize a patient very seriously. Our veterinarian(s) seek to learn every detail about a patient’s quality of life and consider all available resources to care for their physical and emotional needs. It is also important for us to learn how owners can tend to their own personal/family needs while providing for their pet during the end-of-life. If a veterinarian feels that euthanasia is not the right medical decision, they have a responsibility to the animal and themselves to offer alternatives. The mental health of our veterinarians is of paramount importance, and if an ethical conflict arises, we may refuse to perform euthanasia on moral grounds.
